Lucky Few Selected For Teamfight Tactics Mobile Closed Beta
A handful of countries receive access to Teamfight Tactics Mobile Closed Beta.
Ever since Teamfight Tactics launched it was naturally compared to the likes of Hearthstone and Dota Underlords. Which led many fans to ask the question, why is this game mode not available on mobiles? Especially since Dota Underlords launched with both PC and Mobile variants. Riot Games, however, having never dabbled in the mobile genre, wanted to consider each step slowing to ensure the PC version of TFT was perfect first.
Riot set an ETA for mobile TFT in January: Mid-March. But the launch date for Teamfight Tactics mobile has come earlier for a limited number of players after being granted access to the Closed Beta. The developers clarify in an update they’ll roll out a closed beta in a handful of countries, with random pre-registered players being given access to the game.
Although this will disappoint the majority of fans that signed up and didn’t get in at first, Riot Games has some encouraging words: the beta will expand over the next several weeks, and launch will still be scheduled for March.
Teamfight Tactics Mobile UI
Adjusting to the smaller form factor of mobiles, the TFT mobile version comes with some minor but vital design changes. This includes concealing the shop that players buy champions from with a click of a button and enlarged XP/Gold indicators. Riot has also removed some less important elements like chat for the time being until they can discover a fitting way to introduce a mobile-friendly alternative. Pretty much everything else will be exactly the same.
